Every year the people of Adelaide embrace their inner Zombie – unless they are already at that stage through natural causes and take to the streets of Adelaide for the Annual Zombie walk. The Event is open to the public and is free but participants are encouraged to buy a wristband which allows them entry to the best dressed Zombie competition and other perks such as entry to clubs after the walk, cheaper drinks and lots more including getting squirted with fake blood in the splatter tent pre walk. Proceeds from these donations go to Foodbank

Here is the video of the 2017 AZW with the prewalk footage, the walk itself and a bit of the after party/ DJ

The 2018 Adelaide Zombie walk is only 2 weeks away held on October 13th 2018 starting in Rundle Park, Adelaide.

With Womadelaide 2018 less than 8 weeks away ( 9th-12th March 2018 ) its time to put the spotlight on the event and some of the many International and Local artists that will be gracing the Stage.

If you are a regular Womadelaide patron, you are probably aware that Tinariwen have previously played at Womadelaide twice previously with the most recent performance here in 2012. Due to conflict in Mali, 2 of the band members were unable to make the trip. Well its now 6 years later and they are heading back to Adelaide. When I first saw them I was blown away by the driving hypnotic beats with Guitars and vocals cutting through the air whilst all the time fully dressed in the attire they wear in the Deserts of Mali. They are often described as playing Desert Blues and are sure to be one of the many highlights at this years festival.

Womadelaide 2012 – Tinariwen

One of the first concerts I ever went to was Midnight oil, playing at Memorial Drive in Adelaide back in 1984. I was a massive fan of the early stuff but their albums fell out of favour in my mind after they release Red Sails in the Sunset. When I heard they were reforming for the World Circle Tour I was excited followed by Disappointment that they were playing at “Adelaide Oval”. The Oval itself is very bad acoustically due to the large sound reflective Grandstands so I hesitated when tickets went on sale. It wasn’t till a little later I found they weren’t actually playing inside the oval but Adjacent to it ( Right next to Memorial Drive where I had seen them 30+ years prior ). By then it was too late and the show was sold out.

With a few days to go I put out feelers to see if anyone had purchased a ticket was now unable to go and thankfully I found someone local and bought their ticket. So glad I went as was an amazing show. There were only a couple of songs they played that I wasn’t overly familiar with being from Newer albums but plenty of older stuff that I knew every word to. Great night and I captured some short snippets of Video from some of the songs played

Here it is – Enjoy
