I’ve seen Montaigne perform live three times already and she is a very capable performer and up to the task of representing AUS at Eurovision. The first time I saw her live was at Womadelaide in 2017. I was blown away by her energy and was the highlight of the first night for me

 

And then I caught her at Groovin the Moo in the same year 2017 sporting a “Goodies ” T Shirt

and then finally at an Adelaide Uni gig in I think 2018.

 

No Montaigne is NOT at Womadelaide in 2020 but you never know who you might see at Womadelaide that goes onto bigger things.

 

 

 

Whilst Friday night session is the shortest of the 4 days there were some gems to be found. By far the highlight of the night was the performance by Montaigne on the Novatech stage. Wow what a voice and lots of energy. Totally captivating and someone I’ll be aiming to see again sometime soon ( She is playing also at Groove in the Moo in April 2017). Also managed to fit in the Hot 8 Brass band from New Orleans, Xylouris White, Oumou Sangare and part of the Attractor Dancenorth and Lucy Guerin show which had quite loud live “grunting/screaming” which at times seemed excessive but offset by some great dancing.
